Access Day allows pupils to make informed choices when it comes to making decisions about whether or not they wish to apply to art college and in particular to the NCAD.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Pupils that attend Access Day are nominated to do so by their art teachers and it is hoped that this opportunity will inspire and motivate pupils to pursue their interest in art and design.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;NCAD Access would like to thank staff and students from the College for their ongoing support and engagement with the Access Programme.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;This year our art and design workshops included Printmaking, Photoshop in Media, CD Collage in Visual Communication, Cuttlefish Casting in Metals, Drape Draw Design in Fashion, Paper Ball in Textiles, Hot Glass Cast in Glass, &lt;a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ncadeducation/sets/72157626104645453/"&gt;Digital Photography&lt;/a&gt; is a charitable foundation, with more than 140 years tradition in the provision of care for people with intellectual disability. The institution was the first in Ireland to offer such support for people with severe disabilities. Services are provided regardless of age, religion, socio-economic background and encompassing every degree of intellectual disability.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;3rd Yr Education students undertook a two week placement in Stewart’s Hospital in September working with the clients.  In Rosscourt, &lt;a href="http://www.ncad.ie/index.shtml"&gt;NCAD&lt;/a&gt; students, trainees and clients worked on the theme of the ‘Salmon of Knowledge’ celebrating the multiple intelligences of the group through making fish using various media. The student teachers worked collaboratively to create a body of work that demonstrated an informed and creative visual exploration of various issues relating to the umbrella theme of Changing landscapes. The student teachers examined a broad range of human development issues and environmental concerns through a variety of art practices.
